Modern Language Classroom Trends. Effective Teaching and Learning

The students come to our classes with certain expectations and many of them are experienced learners, which means we need to use modern, varied techniques, tailored directly to them. This session aims to answer a number of questions: What are the criteria of a modern and effective lesson? and How do we apply them in our teaching? TEFL authors claim we live in a post-approach era and the way we teach is eclectic, but what makes it ‘informed’? We’ll talk about different language focused lesson frameworks and the choices we make while planning our lessons for a particular group of students.
